I am a newbie at this. I have downloaded a VHS on to my computer but I cannot copy it to a DVD. The message I get is I need a valid TS file. How do I get a valid TS file? and what is it?

ehhh??? not nearly enough info. how did you get it to your computer, what hardware was used, what format is it in now, what are you trying to convert it to dvd with. the list goes on....
hope your first post was better then the second.--

Ok, here goes
I have windows 7, used a diamond v500 to transfer it from a VHS machine to my computer, it copied as a MPEG, I have nero10, shampoo 10, dvdfab8., and Ulead, all video programs that were recommended for one reason or another. I am trying to backup my video tapes by coping the tape from the VHS player to my computer then convert it to a DVD from there. I get as far as it is on my computer, that is it. I have tried to all the different programs I have but I get the same message "Failed to open file "K:\video\movie1\VIDEO_TS.IFO" The system cannot find the file specified." But I am watching the video play the file it says it can't find.
I hope this fills some of my gaps.
