OK here what I need help with. I just Imported all 12 volumes of the Anime Series Medabots, However when this series aired in the US alot of episodes where played in the incorrect order causing inconsistencies and when there DVD's were released they were also in the incorrect order.
What I wanna do is rip these episodes and rearrange the episodes into there correct order and Burn them again losing as little video/audio quality as possible, However I do not know the best way to go about doing this?
there are 12 volumes each containing 4-5 Episodes a disc adding up to 52 episodes.

1) You don't have to lose ANY quality if you do not want to lose any quality.
2) You are going to need to start ripping. I did (almost) the same with my Band Of Brothers DVD set
and my son's Pocoyo DVD collection(with over 70 individual little titles). I used DVDDecrypter in File Mode
and ripped By Cell I.D. , then opened those in MPEGVCR (to trim off the beginnings of each episode/title), and
outputted them to straight MPEG2 files(naming them on the way out), then re-authored the new DVDs.
Something like DVDFab or some other pay ripper can get you each episode too....probably. Never really checked.
I stick with what I know. -
pgcdemux all the volumes(seperate folders)...make sure u know what titles go where
muxman to mux the titles...in order...to the order u want it in
vobblanker to insert the remux't titles back into the menu set
its gna be a task, trust me...12 volumes will take some time

How about using dvdshrink in re-author mode choosing no compression. After re-authoring you could just burn to a dual layer dvd.
Of course no menu's this way but at least you'll get the titles in the order you want.Donadagohvi (Cherokee for "Until we meet again") -
I would just rip them with NeroVision using the Import function to get all titles in .mpg format.
Depending on how the original DvD was authored, these .mpg files could be multi-episodes per file, or separate, or other, etc. You can determine this by simply playing them, and manage them by titling them for your organization.
I would edit (cut/join) with an MPEG editor like TMPGEnc MPEG Editor, VideoReDo or Womble if such work is necessary to split or join any of these .mpgs.
When you have all titles fully split, or joined, and ordered, and ready, just re-author them with a DvD author, and burn, tool to your liking. You can use NeroVision again, but make sure smart rendering is enabled to not lose quality.
I personally would re-burn to a DvD-9 to save space.I hate VHS. I always did. -

Having a problem with PgcDemux. I'm following this guide and i get an error http://sroyc.blogspot.com/2008/03/dvd-ripping-with-pgcdemux.html
"Input error: reached end of VOB to early"
I'm pretty sure i'm picking the right IFO file?
also a small problem is that all the episodes on the disc are considered 1 long video so the 4 episodes on disc 2 add up to 01:29:07.17 -

you can try Vobedit to demux it then...see if that worx
click on open then navigate to the folder with the vobs in it and click on the first vob of the main movie and click open
at the bottom click on demux
tick the bottom 3 boxes
click ok then choose your output folder and will do its thing
problem is if these are individual episodes and they're only seen as one, i notice in your pic they are 1hr 29 mins, then u might have to split them as indivual cells and not as 1 pgc..but i dont knwo how he episodes on that disc are arranged -
What information do you need to know and how could I find it?
I already have a list of the episodes and what order they need to be in. for this disc I need episodes 6 and 7 from disc 2 (the first 2 episodes on the disc) , 27 from disc 7 (again first episode) and 32 from disc 8 (first episode)
EDIT
i was checking the vob files and there were 4 large files, presumably the 4 episodes that are on the disc i'm currently ripping so I'm assuming VTS_02_1 would be the first episode and VTS_02_2 would be the second.
also geez you werent kidding about it taking a while. 1% every 1 minuite for a single episode.Last edited by sshadow5001; 2nd Feb 2011 at 09:28.

yeah each indivdual vts should be an episode...depends on how many of those vts u have...if 1 episode isn't 1 hr and 29 mins then there muxed together so they have to be split so you can rearrange them...u can prolly open that dvd up in vobblanker and see what each episode is...length etc
depends on your pc setup...i use a separate esata hard drive to mux and demux to...takes me about 6 or 7 minutes per disc...also the speed of your processor is a factor -
or he could be using a mounted image...or a backup from a disc he's trying to re-arrange
-
yup i'm using Drive D. all i've done so far is stick the disc in, opened VobEdit and started doing...whatever its doing and saving it in a folder on the desktop called Medabots Episode 6.
the Disc's case doesn't say nothing about copy protection so i dunno?
is it not just possible to just use DVD decrypter and rip the Vobs through that? only takes a few mins to rip an episode through that -
he's trying to bring up that you may be doing a copy protected dvd
u can rip thru dvddecrypter but do so in ifo mode i believe and see if it outputs to individual episode cells..if it does then your in good shapeLast edited by Moontrash; 2nd Feb 2011 at 11:19.

shadow unless you have anydvd or dvdfab passkey running in the background you are not going to get pgcdemux or vobedit to work correctly.
Seriously though I would still try to open the disc (after ripping with something like dvdfab or anydvd) in dvdshrink and just use it's reauthor feature to re-arrange the episodes the way you want them.Donadagohvi (Cherokee for "Until we meet again") -

Yep as long as you rip the full discs to your hard drive first using dvdfab or anydvd.
The reauthor feature of dvdshrink is very useful.

you could have mentioned in your post hech54 that he should throw the disc in the tray, use dvdfab decrypter to strip the protection then use the above mentioned method...just saying "sshadow is using drive d:....correct? Which means he is probably trying to rip a copy protected DVD directly with PGCDemux?" didn't give him the steps he needs to accomplish what he wanted to do.
i never found the dvdshrink method to work well for myself. I have seen it work with others though. I just demuxed everything with pgcdemux then used muxman to bring all back together. having a fast pc and 2 hd's it doesnt take very long so tiem for me isn't that big an issue
do what freebird73717 mentions except i would use dvdfab hd decrypter (free) -
-
ok maybe i'm just blind (definite possibility) but how do I get to the hd decryper? I open up DVDFab and get this welcome screen showing what I've used. I see HD Decrypter in the list but can't do anything with it? so I click Start DVDFab at the bottom left and asks me the disc region. So I pick Region 1 and loads the disc... now how do i get to the HD Decrypter?
