svcd to divx avi

Could anyone provide me with details how do i rip svcd (mpg) to divx avi

virtualdub gives me error -> "MPEG Import filter: pack synchronization error" when i try to open svcd (mpg) file

how do i fix this?

if you know how to rip a dvd using DVD2AVI and GKNOT(also using NANDUB)

then you can load the svcd into dvd2avi
and go thru the same steps as if you were ripping a dvd
and convert it to sbc divx avi

Thanks for replying so fast, but now i got yet another problem, i used DVD2AVI to rip my .mpg (svcd) file and, it made 2 files, one for audio and one for video, how do i merge these two files?

since you're converting svcd to divx avi

go thru the steps you normally would do to convert the svcd mpeg to sbc divx avi

as for that .mpa file dvd2avi made

if you've got the program CDEX
if not get it here - http://www.cdex.n3.net/
you can rename the .mpa to .mp3 and convert it to wav
with that program

then load the sbc divx avi file and the wav file into vdub
to merge together and convert the wav to mp3 with the bitrate you chose in gknot

tho in gknot the audio bitrate is mainly for VBR not CBR
