Convertxtodvd Burning Mkv files with Sub

Hi everyone!

I'm a noob when it comes to MKV files. I have recently downloaded some mkv files with subtitles embedded in the video but then it's not hardsubbed (hard concept for me to grasp).

My question is, does convertxtodvd able to convert these mkv files with softsubs into DVD like a regular avi file?

Yes. ConvertXtoDVD will (generally - no guarantees come with anything any more) read the subs form an MKV and create a soft subbed DVD for you. When you load the MKV file you should see the sub streams listed in the details.

Gunslinger, I do see the subtitle stream. My next problem is when I finished a "test" dvd, the subtitles go off the screen. How do I fix that?

You can edit the subtitle font, size and placement in ConvertXtoDVD

The problem is the overscan area of your TV, vs the placement and size of the subs. You need to use a smaller font to make suer the edges don't fall into your TV's overscan area. You may also have to lift the subs higher up the screen if they are falling below the visible area.

it doesn't seem to do well with AVCHD files though... which is too bad because I like using it.

AVCHD isn't a file format - what format are your files ? m2ts ?
