Hi. I have a widescreen video clip that is a 4x3 stretched out to 16x9. I want it to be in it's normal stage (4x3) and I have searched after guides but almost everything is 4x3 to 16x9 and the rest is 16x9 to 4x3 with black borders. To convert video I use AVStoDVD because it is simple and works for my conversion. The problem is that then I choose 4x3 it add black borders. Is it my eyes or my search words because their must exist guides and tools to shrink a widescreen to fullscreen without black borders. VLC support it in real time. Thanks...

Just change the headers to 4:3 with dvdpatcher or for avi mpeg4 modifier.
Or reconvert and resize to a 4:3 size like 640x480 with a video converter, like avidemux or xmedia recode.

If you want more details then give us more details about your source file.

The source is .flv but I'm converting it to mpeg to work with it. DVDpatcher seems to be the best tool for this operation. Thanks...

Just do the resize, but turn OFF the option for "Keep Aspect Ratio" (if there is one!)

I first choose header only (default) but it didn't work. I then changed to entire file and it worked. That was easy. Thanks! This is a great forum. Like a forum should be...
