  1. Hey,
I just bought a new DVD player, and I just found out it doesnt playback VCDS.. Is there any other possible way I can watch the videos on my computer, on my DVD player. What are CD-Rs used for anyway? Just for music playback?
    It says it plays

    DVD-Video/MP3-CD/CD-R/CD-RW/CD Audio

I tried putting a CD-R with my video on the CD, but it wouldnt play back, is there any other work around so I can play a video from my computer, onto my DVD player without VCD?

    Thanks,
    Brian

are you sure you made standard vcd's? if you did then there is little chance of watching video from your computer on your dvd player with a cd-r. you could try svcd's but they are less likely to work than vcd's. you should check out the dvd player compatibility list on this site to see what discs your player can play. it might play dvd-r's, if you're lucky so you could get a dvd burner and burn your video to dvd. expensive i know, but it could be the only option.

dvd-rom is a dvd disc that stores computer data
dvd-ram is a dvd disc in a cart that is a recordable format but only 1% of dvd players can play these discs.
dvd-rw is the rewritable form of dvd-r. dvd burners like the pioneer 104 can burn these discs.a lot of dvd players can play dvd-rw's.
