  1. I recently purchased multimedia 10 suite.

I am trying to capture video to hard drive.
    Setup worked.
With video source input running through Nero capture software, video and audio output is coming from computer.

After capture, there is no audio on playback- only video.

Audio outputs working on computer- verified.
No audio on multiple media players (WMP, Nero, etc).

On the Audio Device Properties the input setting is Realtek AC97 Audio.
With each of the audio input settings, there is no audio wave displayed during input from the video source.

The audio is coming from a DVR as RCA stereo outs and going to a PixelView m4800 video card on the desktop which inputs as a stereo 1/8 jack.

Need to know why no audio is recording even though it is coming the computer and through the speakers.

Have you tried captured with some other software( https://www.videohelp.com/tools/sections/capture ) ? Does the audio work then?

You've just learned the hard way that Nero is the jack of all trades, master of none. I had no idea that they even made video capture software now. Baldrick's suggestion is well worth considering.

However, in general I can tell you that getting audio working in video captures can be a bit difficult. One of the problems I've seen is that sometimes Windows will try to be "helpful" (but any time Windows wants to help you, I can promise you that you will wish they didn't) and it will mute some input sources by default. So you'll have to go into your audio controls and be sure that nothing is muted. Also, sometimes the input source may not be named exactly what you think it is. You need to check that ALL input audio sources are not muted and the volume levels are not turned down. If you keep working at it, you should eventually get it working. But I've got to be honest with you and tell you that I just don't have a lot of confidence in any video capture software Nero sells. It would be good if you could test with another program just to rule out issues with Nero. Nobody here uses this capture software and in general we avoid Nero like the plague. I only use Nero for creating audio CDs and for some data disc burning and that is all.

Did you check with a program like MediaInfo to verify that there is no audio in the file? The audio may just be in a format that your system doesn't recognize.

    And welcome to our forums.
