  1. Okay, here is a problem I have been dealing with for months now and it's getting unbearable. All I want to do is rip the separate channels from a DVD with 5.1 audio. I would have thought this would be a pretty simple thing to do. But I've searched all over the internet and barely found any useful information.

I've successfully used DVD Decrypter to make an AC3 audio rip. But the next step of splitting it into separate wav files has been rife with problems.

I recently came across a thread on these forums that gave a step by step tutorial of how do this with eac3to.
    https://forum.videohelp.com/threads/300964-Help-Split-6-Channels-into-separate-WAVs
However, when I tried to do this myself the program kept crashing whenever I selected the input file from the drop down menu. I can't figure out why. I've also tried numerous other programs but they've all had various problems and complications so I'm really at the end of my rope.

I've always preferred to figure things out myself, and not ask people on forums that might think I was stupid for having these difficulties. But I really can't figure this one out. And this seems like a pretty good forum. It's just about the only place I've found any info on this at all. So if anyone could help me here, I'd be incredibly grateful.

  2. Audacity with the ffmpeg plugin can open multi channel AC3.

Sometimes demuxed AC3 has a weird header.

You can try "Besliced": http://besweet.notrace.dk/BeSlicedv0.2.zip to repair it.
You just drop an AC3 file into it and choose "fix file".

  4. By the way, Audacity with the ffmpeg plugin can import AC3 audio directly from a VOB file.

I don't think there is anything wrong with the AC3 file. It's more a problem of me not knowing how use any of these programs.

I've tried to use BeSweet in the past, but as with everything else, I couldn't get it to work properly.

    I tried this and got:
'eac3to' is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file.

No luck so far but thanks everyone for trying to help.
