    Hi,
This may be a totally stupid question, but I'm just learning this. I have an avi. file with--ok, I'll admit it--the voice of my husband's exwife in the background here and there. It's my husband's first meeting with his grandson, and her voice is something I want to remove. Is this possible, and if so, how do I go about doing it?

    Thanks

    Theresa

You'll need to open the file in an audio editor and change the volume where her voice is.

I use Goldwave but it's not free. Audacity will turn the selected parts to silence but I'm not sure that you can control the volume like in Goldwave. Maybe someone more familiar with Audacity will chime in.

Thanks so much, Darrells. I was reading about it and may go ahead and get it. I have MAGIX but I don't think it does what I need it to. I truly appreciate your advice on this.
