Hello. I came to this forum for an answer. I hope you can help me.

I started using MKV2VOB for my PS3 and it worked perfectly. But when i tried to watch a freshly converted MPEG with VLC-media player on my pc, The sound was all horrible sounding. Not even audible in the slightest bit. Now i thought i'll just watch it on my PS3 i found out that the sound is still crap even on my ps3. I did not install new codec or tamper with anything. I have a DTS System wich has been playing very well for a couple of mkv files.

    Please help. Thank you!

What is the source audio in the mkv? Identify using mediainfo.

  4. Give MkvConvert a TRY!
MKvConvert is basic MKV-to-AVI converter and uses Mencoder with 2-pass and its fast as well.
I have tested it, work fine.
AVI, you can convert it any other desired format.

Thanks but i really liked mkv2vob because it's fast. and avi can never have the same quality as MPEG and especially not MKV. So save your advertising.

Wait some days before you bump the thread. Not 2 hours.

Are you reconverting to dolby ac3 audio with mkv2vob? If not then try that.

Sorry. It's just that i was really looking forward to seeing avatar in 1080p! I'll try the ac3... but the thing is, that it worked before. Just when i watched it on my computer the sound got all screwed.
