I just bought a serie on itunes, the file is in m4v format. But the video will not play in MPC or KMplayer, but it does work in Quicktime. So it seems I do have the right codecs right?

I have ffdshow and Haali Media Splitter. Maybe I need to change the settings, because I can play every file (avi, MKV, mov etc), but not m4v.
I do hope any of you can help me out here.

  2. You might not have a proper directshow splitter installed, or it might be using other codecs (use mediainfo)

    Try mpchc

If you bought the videos through the iTunes Music Store, they're DRM-protected, and the only way they'll play is through iTunes/Quicktime.

I tried mpchc, but it still gives me the same error.

I do think you are totally right about the DRM, because it actually make sense now. The serie works in quicktime (so I had the right codecs installed) Ah what a bummer though, oh well, I will watch my series on quicktime then
