I'm assuming it must be a codec issue? m4v videos were playing fine on my system not long ago, i dont know what would have changed? How would I go about resolving this? where can I get a specific m4v codec? Its gotta be something simple.. i'm having a dumb moment.

Is this from a file that doesn't play? If so, as a comparison post the details of a file that's playable.

What program are you using to play the videos?

Just as a side note, you might want to use MediaInfo, rather than GSpot, to get information on the .m4v files. GSpot's support for video containers other than AVI/.divx or .MPEG/.mpg is rather limited.

Also, if you use MediaInfo in Tree View, you can simply just cut-and-paste the information here. Easier than attaching 1833x1069 GSpot screenshots at 263kb.

I can't see anything in particular that might be causing problems, although Gspot doesn't display all information about the video file. If you follow Ai Haibara's suggestion; open a broken file and a working file with MediaInfo, select View>Text and copy the details here.

It looks like both videos were converted with HandBrake, so it's a mystery why one isn't working.
