I downloaded a movie in divx format. When I try to watch it, the video hangs around 15 min into it while the audio continues. I can forward past that point and the movie plays fine. I've tried using divfix to check for errors and rebuilding the index but to no avail. I've thought about trying to go ahead and encoding the movie to see if this problem carries over. Any ideas? Thanks.

    Load the AVI into Vdub
Select Video > Scan Video stream for errors
    Video > Direct stream Copy
    Audio > Direct stream copy
    SAVE AVI (Save movie2.avi)

If Vdub fails to scan, this is a know problem, download "vdub-mp3-freeze.exe" instead, this is hacked version of Vdub and makes a list of bad frames at c:\badframes.log You can then use this log to delete the bad frames (Start with the highest number first)

    Notes
vdub-mp3-freeze.exe is the best for finding bad frames, By removing the highest numbers first, you don’t need to scan more than once.

  3. another thing you could do is download divx anti-freeze... you can get it from doom9.net in the downloads section under codecs..
