Go to http://www.tmpgenc.net/e_main.html and get this fine program.
Then use it to process your VIDs with maximum motion search, noise reduction and a sensible GOP and quantize matrix.
Once all your MPGs are looking nice you can use Nero to make the S/VCD.
Tsunami MPEG Encoder is better at making MPGs than Neros plugin. -
Thanks Arwen ... like I said, I'm a newbie...
Wow... "Then use it to process your VIDs with maximum motion search, noise reduction and a sensible GOP and quantize matrix"... will I be able to figure that at the site you referenced?
S/VCD?... I've only got the freebie version of NERO... ideas?
Tsunami MPEG Encoder - is this a free download?..use this instead of nero?

Those are simply options you can change in the TMPGEnc program when encoding your video. Those options shouldn't be hard to find, but if you're having trouble setting them/understanding what they do, try the help in TMPGEnc, or check out some of the various guides on this site. Most of those options are just check boxes, or you simply select "max motion search, normal motion search, etc..." it shouldn't be too hard to figure out.Wow...
