This is my first-ever HDMI venture, and it's now failed. No audio, no video, just the debris, i.e. no ability to access the now-greyed-out HDMI options on the Philips, whose Video Setup Page menu is now reduced to TV Display & Picture Setting (unless I unplug the HDMI cable).
Still working is the HDMI-supported CEC(?) control switching, where pressing the power key on the TV (42LG53FR, which is a 42" LCD panel) switches the Philips on & off.

It was working - for a couple of days only, then .... just ceased. The LG has 3xHDMI's. All present this same problem.

Firmware is latest release. I've tried the modded versions, which don't affect this issue.

Playback via composite & component outputs are fine.

I'm intending to get the cable checked out later today, but I've an intuitive feeling that the Philips port has failed.

Do members have any suspicions / advice / experience they are willing to share.

    Cheers folks!

    O!

I'd think first HDMI connector issues.
Second electrical failure of the HDMI port chip.
