  1. I recently bought a Dazzle Digital Video Creator 80. I love it and it works great..but

    1. When i try to load capture in Adobe Premiere it says the capture driver cannot be found.

    2. The capture software that came with it MGI Video Wave 4 won't allow me to see the video that I am feeding in. It gives me a blank screen and then I have to capture.

    3. I was thinking of hooking up a vcr and caturing tv like a tv tuner. Is that possible with the Dazzle and what it the best software to use?

Thanks and please someone know :P

  6. You can't capture analog video through your USB

Especially since the Dazzle DVC 80 captures through the USB port; at
the 1.1 specification and not the newer and FASTER 2.0 spec.

If you want to capture through USB 1.1 then you're going to need
the Dazzle DVC I for VCD captures or the Dazzle DVD II for SVCD captures.

  7. bah..

I am so confused. Why do they make the video capture device if it isn't possible to capture?

I read on the box that it is used to capture from camcorder, and it is possible to capture in mpeg 1.

Should I jus get a tv tuner pci card?

I have xp so tv ati wont work. Any suggestions?

  9. The Dazzle 80 is a good product IF you can accept its limitations. First, YES you can capture analog video throught a USB port, that is what this product does. I had the product so here is my opinion. First,DO NOT use the Videowave included w/ it. For one its an "SE" edition, and it sucks. Use a free program called Virtualdub to capture w/ the Dazzle 80. When I used this setup I experienced no droped frames, but the audio did un-sync a little. I never found a work-around b/c I got my new capture card and sold my Dazzle. This card is meant to capture at 320x240, but with Virtualdub it can go as high as 352x240. You can find a guide on how to use VirtualDub under "capture." You will need o adust a seeting like "image format" to get 352x240. So, w/ the Dazzle 80, you can squeeze out VCD quality. I tell you this right now, this is considered an inferior capture card. The are better option for MPEG1 capture, but the Dazzle 80 is cheap if you only want to play around. I wouldn't show my family a VCD i made with the Dazzle 80, they would cringe.

BTW, the reason it doesn't work in Premiere is because it only recognizes DV devices.

  10. [The Dazzle 80 is a good product IF you can accept its limitations.]

This is true. Like I said I had the 80, but I wanted better looking VCDs/SVCDs and DVDs, with the help of a hard device like DVCII and a product like Ulead Movie Factory, I was able to achieve this, plus there's a great forum for the DVCII also: http://stop.at/dazzle2. And the thing about the Premiere is true it only likes the DV.

    Hope this helps,

  12. Thank-you for all the info. CMP1223, what capture card did you switch to? Does it work nicely for you?

Thanks again for all the input.

  13. I switched to the Pinnacle Studio Deluxe. It has an Analog input/output Breakout Box as well as a Firewire connection. It captures Analog in DV. It was best in my situation because I want to make VHS tapes (via the Analog out) When I want a VCD, I convert the DV down, which gives better results than any hardware based MPEG card. But it takes alot of encode time. Plus, the DV is easier to edit. I got it for $250. Comes with editing software. If all you want is analog capture and output to VCD, I suggest a good Mpeg-1 capture card. I don't know which is the best, but there are MANY topics about it here.

  14. Ya, I saw that. Looks cool. I'll give it a try.

If anyone else viewing this forum know of a good tv tuner capture card that will work with Xp... please tell me.

Thanks again for all the feedback.
