Okay, so I was going to buy a Dazzle to record my game play off of my PS3, but recently I realized I would also like a device that i could plug my AV cables from my TV Box to it and Watch Live TV on my PC through Windows Media Center. The ideal device for this should be a TV Tuner, right? But I've heard of Capture Cards that can do this job, just like a TV Tuner. Is this the case with the Dazzle? If not, which reasonably priced TV Tuners could I buy to watch Live TV on my PC, AND to record my game play off of my PS3 with decent quality? Thanks in advance!

I don't think the Dazzle line has a model with a tuner.

There are many NTSC tuners out there. Most also record analog NTSC (composite or S-Video). MCE has a list of supported tuner models.

These days you should get an NTSC (analog) + ATSC (digital) + QAM (cable digital) tuner. Someday the Dominican Republic will begin digital broadcast.

They are inexpensive now. Among the more popular models,

ATI TV Wonder 650 (available in USB2 or PCIe models).
    Hauppauge HVR models
    AverMedia

If you are running 64 bit Win7 OS, selection will be more difficult. Look for user reports of success with MCE.

First of all, thanks for the quick reply . Okay, so I was thinking of getting the Diamond ATI Theater 750 USB TV Tuner (http://www.amazon.com/Diamond-TVW750USB-ATI-Theater-Tuner/dp/B002UOUQ08/ref=wl_it_dp_o...d=D32IYAQ7A65R). It seems to have all the features you mentioned. Do you believe I could use this model of TV Tuner to record my gameplay off of my PS3?

I haven't used it. USB stick models may have line level recording issues. Search that model here and in other user forums for feedback.

The 750 lacks the 3D comb filter found on the 650 so wouldn't be as good from composite inputs. On the plus side, it will use hardware processing assist from a compatible ATI display card.
