  1. I am trying to burn an ISO file to a disc using NERO 7, this file is almost 8GB, and I bought the fitting disc, which is 8.5GB.
I tryed to burn it, and seemed to do everything wright, the speed was 2.4x but later I could not play my file.
I was told that the speed I used was to high, so now I try to do this again, but there is a wierd thing, when I prepear NERO to burning the file, it gives me, about 4 options of speed: Maximum, 2.4x, 2x, and 1x.
But than I insert my disc, and the speed automaticaly becomes 2.4x, without those other options, so this is the only speed I can burn my image with. But I already done it once, and the disc is not playable, I can see the folders, of audio and video_TS, but they do not open.

Would you tell me please why is this so, and what should I do?

Try using imgburn to make your dvd+r dl.

Nero does some "funky" stuff with the file placement, and the burns are more unreliable than they are reliable.

Those who are much smarter than I can explain in greater detail why imgburn is the best burning solution, and why you should not use nero for dvd+r dl burning.

Speed probably isn't your issue, but it is possible that Nero is using the default value of "Maximum" and that may not be optimal. LJB is 100% correct - Nero is not a good choice for DVD DL burning and if you are using -R DL instead of +R DL, Nero may not ever work for that.

Also, DL media brands are more important than you might think. We recommend ONLY Verbatim DVD+R DL discs around here, preferably the Made In Singapore ones if you can get them. If you must use DVD-R DL discs (I don't recommend it), use Verbatim there.
