    Hi everyone,

I've always converted VOB (VTS) movies to MPG with the program VOB2MPG. The main reason to do so is cause I have to use Subsync to sync my subtitles. But just a few minutes ago I got my first problem in history. I added the map (VIDEO_TS) which contains the VOB files. And I added a output location. But when VOB2MPG is trying to convert the movie to MPG it fininshes is 2 - 3 seconds. I know VOB2MPG is quite fast in converting. But this is beyond imagination. And as I guessed I was unable to play the MPG files.

Does anyone know how I can correctly convert the files to MPG files with a decent duration of 10 - 20 minutes with a nice playable movie. If you people need any logs. Could you please tell me which one. I got like 10 logs in mij logs directory and I dont know which one you need.

a couple things you can try. first use dvdshrink on the movie to re-author it to video and 1 audio track. a second thing you can try is in the output folder you can delete all files except the vobs. one or a combination of both should help.

well it worked for me so far. I could convert the movie to MPG decently without any problems. But when im playing the movie it plays with 1 fps. I even think its less. Also in subsync (Caus thats the reasons why I wanted to Convert the movie) it plays that slow and it makes me unable to correctly sync the subtitles. Does anyone know why im experiencing this problem.

I used DVD shrink btw to re-author the movie. And like I mentioned. It worked. The only problem is that the movie plays way to slow right now.

EDIT: Do I need a special codec or something.

Good old SmartRipper has a tab named "Stream processing" where you can select to extract the titles to separate video, audio and subtitle streams. In the setup you can choose to extract to segments (e.g. 1gb) or full length streams.
Advantage: Doesn't need to have the .Net framework 2 installed.
