Using IFO mode, I extracted the first 21 chapters (out of 27). When finished, I put the mpg file into another program that merges mpg files together without recompressing them. This program says the the out from VOB2MPG has no duration. I can play the file fine in VLC but cannot merge it. Does this have to do with not including all of the chapters or has anyone ever seen this before? It kind of makes what I bought it for useless if something is saving wrong.

I am using FAST AVI MPEG JOINER to merge them. It works fine on everything except mpegs that I have used VOB2MPG on AND that I have excluded chapters while extracting. That's when this happens. If I extract all of the chapters there is no problem with it.
I am also getting an error saying "insufficient decoders" which is related to playing the preview I think.
Thank you. -
Have you tried the GOP Timestamp correction option in the settings?

Um, no (a little embarrassed). Didn't know about that. I'll give that a go. Thank you.

No, that didn't work, either. It still says duration 0 even after checking the GOP correction box. I guess I am out of luck on this one. I love the software other than this. So as long as I don't have to merge anything it is really nice. But trying to merge two Lord of the Rings disks (extended version is split between two disks) is where I am stuck with two separate files.

What you can do is use the VOBSET mode.....
Have a look at:
https://forum.videohelp.com/topic368710.html#1973176
But in your case you will be doing it on the main titleset from each disk....
Then you will have one big joined up mpg and therefore no need for the other program.SVCD2DVD v2.5, AVI/MPEG/HDTV/AviSynth/h264->DVD, PAL->NTSC conversion.

VOBSET mode only does AC3 and no DTS support other than forcing AC3... right? It sounds exactly like what I want it to do with the exception of not having the DTS audio. I will try it and see what comes out because I think you are prolly done for the day way over there across the pond.

Ya, it worked perfectly on the video... merged them into one neat file. The audio is 2 channel which isn't what I was hoping for on it. Maybe I could use ConvertXToDvd and put both MPGs with the proper audio on one custom authored DVD and then convert them from that? Just thinking out loud on it. Thanks for all the help.

Sounds like an option.... Give it a try!
