How do I prevent file splitting? Type-1 or type-2?

Change the "Max AVI size" in the Config window.

There's "mouse-over" tips on the main web site for WinDV, FWIW.

Type 1 or Type 2 depends on what you want to do with the file. TMPGEnc and VirtualDub and others use Type 2. The newer VDs can use either. Other programs may use one or the other. Check your program. There are file type changers available in our 'Tools' section that can change the type. The only real difference is in how the audio is combined with the video.

In WinDV, set the 'Discontinuity' to '0' and the 'Max AVI size (Frames)' to '100000' or max, and that should disable any splits.
