    Hi, I tried entering the following text at the Windows XP command prompt, which it took.

    Command Prompt Code:
    regsvr32 "C:\program files\badgerit\svcd2dvd v2.5\code-lock.ocx"

    Then I tried to start up the SVCD2DVD 2.5 again. This time an option for bugging details came up and I got this:

    See the end of this message for details on invoking
    just-in-time (JIT) debugging instead of this dialog box.

    ************** JIT Debugging **************
    To enable just-in-time (JIT) debugging, the .config file for this
    application or computer (machine.config) must have the
    jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section.
    The application must also be compiled with debugging
    enabled.

    For example:

    <configuration>
    <system.windows.forms jitDebugging="true" />
    </configuration>

    When JIT debugging is enabled, any unhandled exception
    will be sent to the JIT debugger registered on the computer
    rather than be handled by this dialog box.

    This is more information than I got before. What exactly is the input string? Where is it stored and what format should it be in? Maybe I can manually edit it? Thanks!

    Maybe I should ask for a refund? I bought a SW program that won't even start up. Thoughts?

    Hi there- I performed the following steps:

    1. Run the command at the prompt: (successfully)
    regsvr32 "C:\program files\badgerit\svcd2dvd v2.5\code-lock.ocx"

    2. Installed VB runtime per these instructions:

    http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=7B9BA261 ... laylang=en

    3. Reinstalled SVCD2DVD 2.5

    4. I ran a .NET v 2 repair as well.

    5. I started up SVCD2DVD 2.5 and it had the same error.

    (If I knew what the input string is, and what it should be, I could type in what it needs to be to make it startup).

    I am running a standard Lenovo T61p.

    It would seem that the SVCD2DVD settings in the registry are causing the issue. Can you tell me what you have for TVOverscanPixels in HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Badger I.T.\SVCD2DVD 2.5\Settings\Process :

    There is actually nothing in there... Weird. I've installed it twice now.

    How can I force it to set the registry values? Thanks!

    Can you add a string key for now:

    TVOverscanPixels

    value 1

    And lets see if that gets you any further?

    The program now starts correctly. Adding the Registry key did the trick. Thank you for all your help.

    Now I just need to figure out how to use it!
