Whenever I try to join two files .avi using VBR audio in virtualdub, the audio always falls out of sync in the combined file. I have tried virtually everything I can think of to try to get it to stay in sync, but it just won't! Every guide I find is pretty much ancient (~5 years old) that pertains to keeping VBR in sync.
I have also tried VirtualDubMod, but that also fails to keep the audio in sync.
What can I do? I have had this problem for nearly two years... I wish I could find the guy that invented VBR and kick him in the balls...
So anyway, can anybody help me out? If anyone can find a solution for me, I will be so greatful that I will give them a virtual high five.
Thanks!

Try running your AVI files through this - it'll create CBR audio for you. use Avi_Gain_Regular.bat

Doesn´t Virtualdub 1.8 now support VBR MP3 ?
Maybe you update your version, and try it again.
If not: just save the soundfile, create a wavefile and then put the new wavefile into Virtualdub. There you can create CBR MP3 too. (Video direct streamcopy) - Muxing - and this worked for me (before Virtualdub handled VBR) -
Compared to variable-sample-rate Vorbis or WMA,
the sync problems with VBR~MP3 are a cuddle toy. -
Wow.. that new version of virtualdub came out less than a week ago... the last time I checked for an update was something like 2 or 3 hours before that was put up
. I'll have to check it out. Thanks!
