  1. i figured if you rip a dvd you can burn it without reencoding as it is already in the right format... am i right??
    plus how long does it take to rip on a decent system?
    how long to burn??

    i ripped a DVD in under 20 mins the other day.. it does not take long at all - i think it depends on ur dvd rom in ur comp and its speed... (i think)

    not sure about ur ripping question tho... do you mean if you rip a dvd and then burn with a dvd-r? so you would be doing a 1-1 copy or do you mean some kinda conversion i.e vcd etc...??


    burning ... again do you mean dvd-r or a cdr?

    Prob won't happen. most dvd's are too large for current dvd-r disks. So 1:1 copies are impossible unless the dvd you are ripping is very small.

    Gotcha now. I thought you were wanting to do an exact copy of the DVD. No compression or cutting. The 1:1 threw me off.
