use the Conditional filter from Dmitri Schamschufko. It allows you apply almost any filter to a specified frame range.

You mean blur out everything around them so you aren't distracted by the background ?

The Conditional Execution Filter seemed to have disappeared. It allowed you to use different filters for different parts of a video. Without that, you can cut out a part of the video you want to handle differently in Direct stream copy mode, open it in a second VirtualDub, apply your filters, then save it out in the same format as the original in Full processing mode, then add it back into your first VD file.

  6. Or learn some AviSynth so you can use the Trim or ApplyRange filters to filter only parts of a video:

Unfortunately, no. The links I had for it no longer work. I did read that it is incompatible with the newer versions of VDub so it was probably pulled, which is too bad because it should work fine with VdubMod.

You can get it from the Wayback archive:
    http://web.archive.org/web/20050405002942/http://wwwtcs.inf.tu-dresden.de/~dc1/conditional/
That has Version 0.5b - March 2003, which appears to be the last version.
It works in VDubMod 1.5.10 (the latest, I think).
