  1. I am in need of a program that can stretch or shrink an audio file (WAV). What options do I have for this? I have a program that can cut the audio, but what I really need is something that can stretch it a little so that the audio matches my video exactly.

I've heard of GoldWave, Soundforge?.. I dunno if these can do it. Are there any others, and are there any freeware solutions?

    Thanks for your help,

  2. Well, I went ahead and wrote my own program to do it!

This (free) program makes it possible to speed up or slow down a standard uncompressed WAV file:

Unfortunately I'm beginning to think that adjusting the WAV isn't the way to fix my audio desync problems. I've been investigating the AVI structure, and I've found that VirtualDub writes a block of audio for about 11 frames of video. That's probably why sync problems can sometimes be fixed by extracting the audio out.
