I have been trying to convert an avi file now for a bit, and I keep running into problems.
If I convert using tovid with ffmpeg backend, the sync is fine, but dvdauthor complains that the SCR is moving backwards, and to remultiplex.
When I demux, the file starts breaking up into chunks... I guess where the bad video is...
If I just do a copy with a new index using mencoder or avidemux, the video goes horribly out of sync.
I had fixed the original avi with divfix++.... and of course, the converted mpeg is in sync... it is just that the SCR issue messes it up.
What should I do next to try to fix this issue? If I just convert the avi with avidemux, it just goes out of sync (not fixing the bad frames, but cutting them out and not changing the source audio)
If I was in windows, I think the advice on this thread would help https://www.videohelp.com/forum/archive/fixing-bad-frames-without-losing-any-audio-t153907.html
This thread is similar to one that I posted before, but I was a bit new then, and it got slightly muddled... and I didn't see a thread dedicated to just this issue, so I figured I would post. Hope I made the right choice...
Thanks in advance
