I've just installed ffmpegX to convert some QuickTime mov files to a file compatible with Windows (MOV-mpeg-4) for a client but when I drop the Quicktime.mov file into the Source Format box I get 'Unrecognized' in the window?

I am obviously doing something fundamentally wrong here. I have checked to Decode with QT box but still no joy. Is there any other settings that I must deploy to do this conversion sucessfully?

    Thanks

    Simone

Please provide some details on your source file. What does QuickTime Player say about the content/codecs? Do a Cmd-I and/or Cmd-J to access details.

All it says is the following:

FORMAT 16-bit Integer (Big Endian), Stereo, 44.100 kHz
    H.264 Decoder, 720 x 576, Millions

    FPS: 25

Hmm, that's odd. ffmpegX should have no trouble recognizing the file, as it does when I try to create a H.264/PCM file.
Maybe there is more to it, like proprietary headers or DRM, hard to tell without access to the file to try out a few things.

I tried various prepared QuickTime files in different compressions and codecs but none are 'Recognized' - Maybe ffmegX is not designed to do the job?

    Many thnaks
