My old camcorder broke down last week, so I'm looking for a new one, but I have some questions in need answered before I can make the right pick.

What I'm looking for in specs are these:

    Mid-low end camcorder
    MiniDV
    Min. 25x zoom
Good Image stabilizer (Apparently my hands shake like earthquake, when i record)
    Widescreen support

I've narrowed it down to 4 choices.

    The Panasonic gv-gs85
    http://www.amazon.com/Panasonic-PV-GS85-Camcorder-Optical-Stabilized/dp/B000M4GT68/ref...5336906&sr=1-1
Pros: 32x zoom, Optical IS, widescreen support
Cons: Only so-so reviews, 0.3mpx picture capture, Average lowlight

    The Canon ZR850
    http://www.amazon.com/Canon-ZR850-MiniDV-Camcorder-Optical/dp/B000M4JDQQ/ref=sr_1_12/0...334822&sr=1-12
Pros: 35x zoom, widescreen support, 1mpx picture capture
Cons: Electronic IS (Don't know how good it is), Average lowlight

    The Sony DCR-HC48
    http://www.amazon.com/Sony-DCR-HC48-Handycam-Camcorder-Included/dp/B000M3IM00/ref=sr_1...5334822&sr=1-4
Pros: widescreen support, 1mpx picture capture, Super Steadyshot (OIS/EIS?), widescreen, Good lowlight
    Cons: "Only 25x zoom"

    The Sony DCR-HC45
Same as above, but with 40x zoom and no true widescreen support.

I'm going back and forward between the last 3 choices (Skipped the gs85, because of quality).
I'm guessing widescreen is going to be the standard in the future, so i should rule out the HC45 (Or should I not?).
That leaves me with the ZR850 and HC48. I really like having long zoom, but if i can't control it at 35x, is it worth it? (And I don't use tripods).
So the HC48 should be the choice, right? Help me out please...

If you REALLY need that much zoom, get a tripod...
