    Hi,
I want to make a dvd with episodes of tv shows that are in avi and I want to have a menu that allows you to pick the episode you want and I also want to add switchable subs. Also the main menu screen I want to have a still picture and music playing in the background, with the episodes there to choose from.
What would be the best programme to do all this?
    Thanks

Easy way try avstodvd or dvdflick

Harder way but you have much more control over the final product would be to learn to encode video and audio separately and author your dvd just the way you want it in guifordvdauthor

Thanks for your response, I used dvdflick but that only lets you choose menu's from a list, I want to be able to make my own menu's and add an audio track to the menu. I want to add my own image and choose fonts and so on.

Then your best bet is either to look at payware products like ulead dvdworkshop or tmpg dvdauthor or learn how to do it the manual way with freeware.

Yep, DVDWS is what I'd use for the authoring. Guide for using Ulead DVD Worshop 2 here.

But you have to encode the video/audio before authoring.

For that, I suggest using ConvertXToDVD. Yes, it makes a "DVD", but you can still easily extract the encode MPEG's. Burn to an ISO file in ImgBurn, load DaemonTools or GizmoDrive to load the ISO, and then rip the video using DVD Decrypter.

It takes a few steps to do what you want, but it's not too hard, and it can be done.

    AVStoDVD should suit your requirements.
