I'm attempting to convert an iMovie HD DV file to AVI, and everything works great until the end: the AVI has white frames added to the end, whether I use mencoder or ff AVI encoding. The source is 640x480, and I'm doing the same in FF.
I don't know what other data to post, and I'm at a total loss because if the movie ends in white, I can't use it (it's for a presentation).
Any ideas? What else do you need to know?

Are you playing them with Quicktime? I've had QT add a white frame to the end of some of my .3gp videos from my phone that aren't there. I can see how that would be distracting for a presentation. Could you perhaps try playing the .avi files in VLC or in mplayer to see if the white frames are still there?
