    do i need to install VobSub as well?

  4. K-Lite is known to lead to all kinds of codec and other video related problems. Especially if you install/uninstall it a few times. Usually the only way of fixing the system is a fresh install of Windows.

    You're far better off installing the specific codecs you need. If you really want a "pack" try ffdshow. It's much cleaner. It includes subtitle filters too.

    but!
    i'm using K-Lite codec pack over 2 years now and i'v never had
    any codecs problems!
    i also never suffered from lack of them!
    i dont know why it caused Busman747 problems with openin' AVI
    files...
    i know a lot of people using the K-Lite - and i'v never heard
    any complaints...
    maybe the results differ depending on which hardware or system
    configuration the codecs performed on...
