Here is what I am looking for:
I want a program that converts whatever video that is capable of playing on my computer to a mpeg (so I dont lose any quality)... Then I can throw it in VDM and edit it.
no black magic, no raising the dead.... VERY SIMPLE... I am sure someone with half a brain must of coded this...
anyone know were I can download it?

Yes, the day you find a way to encode any video file (that your computer can play) to mpg without losing any quality, I'd dare say you'll be a rich man. Good luck!

All I want is the ability to open any video that my computer can play. The same way MPC (or any player) finds the appropriate codec should be used with a video editor. Even if that PARTICULAR codec cannot be directly edited, the video editing program could save a fully uncompressed video and let the user decide what codec to use to re-compress.Originally Posted by mats.hogberg
and when I said mpg I meant the compression HD video uses to no re-record pixels that do not change (basically full quality with compression)
