  1. Ok in DVDx everything seems to runs smootly until i get to the end, the buffer will stop at @80mb??? I tried setting it at higher and lower numbers, but it seems like no matter what it sticks at the end?????

Next, when I am in VCDEasy......the CD-r burns almost completely, then I get an error saying that something is wrong with the buffer.??????

Then, while playing the VCD I first had a problem with the audio being a second or so off at times. I think i fixed that but I still have terrible sound when alot is going on, when it is only talking everything sounds fine, but music is BAD. The video quality is also choppy at times.

I know I sound like a lost soul, I'm really new at this. I don't think it is the comuter that is the problem, but then again..what the hell do I know. I'm using a month old Sony Vaio, its my G/F's (if she only knew what I was doing with it) . I dont remember all the specs, but I can get them later, I am at work now.

    Can ANYONE help?????

  5. any ideas about what the buffer problem could be???

when I set the number to save on HDD as 1000 or so, it stops at around 930MB

when I set it at 100 it stops at 81MB after it has run about ten times throughtout the encoding.

I have tried to buffer with the dvd drive, i dont want to kill her drive though. and when I did this the encoding froze at the end of the file because it seems like there were more frames it wanted to encode, but werent any more left so it just stopped, but i had to stop it with the button. is that normal.

And will that TMPGEnc program fix the VCDEasy buffer problem. Everything write fine until the end everytime, I've only done it 3 times though. But just before it is finished i get a buffer underun error (i think). what does that mean?

  6. If I use TMPGEnc.....will that cancel out using DVDx???

Right now I am encoding my DVD using DVDx (trying to at least), then I am simply writing it with VCDEasy. thats probably my problem, I am missing too many steps to make this work, but I dont know what steps I'm missing. BARE WITH ME PEOPLE. I'm doing all the research I can.

Any suggestions for programs I should also use and what not to use would be AWESOME. The quality I get now is terrrrrrrible.

Have you tried to rip the dvd to the hard drive first? Download Smartripper from the tools section. Then have DVDx use the rip to the hard drive instead of the DVD.

If you're that new to this, I'd stay away from TMPGenc for right now. Get your feet wet working with DVDx and in a 10-12 rips from now, move on to TMPGenc. For me, DVDx was a godsend for helping me understand what was involved in making an (s)(x)VCD. Once your confortable with DVDx and consistently getting good results, then I'd move to the Smartripper - DVD2AVI - TMPGenc route.

Once your done this rip, be sure to delete it from the hard drive so that your girlfriend doesn't find out your using her laptop for making copies of porn DVDs.
    Have a good one,
