I took out my factory usb card out and replace it with a 2.0. How can i get it to burn faster than .5 the speed? I am using a HP burner and pc.

Did you uninstall the drivers and allow windows to load USB2.0 drivers?
Is your burner USB2.0?
Does your burner actually support the maximum rated speed on your media?
If there is not a 16x write strategy for a given media in the drive firmware it will burn at 8x, or 4x or even 2.4x.
Have you updated your drive firmware?
Since you have not identified the mediaID for what you are burning, you will only get vague responses.
In checking the HP DC4000 you list in your config it is an 8x drive. If you are trying to burn at 16x, it won't.
