  1. I use dvd shrink 3.2 and dvd decryptor. over the last month or so, almost all the dvd's I try to burn have given me some kind of error. I'm not talking about HD DVD's or anything like that. am I missing something? I haven't had any trouble burning dvds before. Is there some kind of new encryption on them?

If by "burn" dvd's you mean "rip" dvd's try ripit4me or dvdfab decrypter to rip with. They can handle most of the newer protection schemes that prevent you from backing up your dvd's.

Yep a second for ripit4me or dvdfabdecrypter. Both are updated frequently - dvd shrink and dvd decrypter are no longer updated.

Basically you have to rip it to your hard drive first and then open the folder with dvd shrink.

I'm having the same problems I think as the OP. I can rip the DVD's just fine using the programs mentioned above, but when I go to actually burn them to disk using DVD Decrypter I will get a message saying invalid format or something similar. Everything else in the process works just fine.

Never had this show up till very recently.

As long as you are ripping with the latest updated tools, you should be having no trouble.

The movie Over The Hedge gives me that error message as does Monster House. I just tried another movie and it worked fine. I'm using DVDFab Decrypter to rip it and then DVD Shrink and finally ImgBurn to burn it to disc.

@ mz32quick - try using ripit4me on over the hedge. Also make sure you have the latest version of dvdfab decrypter - I don't know how frequently it is updated.

DVDFab Decryptor is updated quite often. It was just updated again on the 25th.

The first step whenever you have trouble ripping, is update your tools.
