hi all
I've a problem. When I encode a mpeg2 SVCD in 16:9 format my dvd player (mustek 560) display it with orizontal flipping.
If i encode it in 4:3 format everyting is ok.
Does anybody know how to encode in 16:9 format?
thank you

I'm not exactly sure what you mean, here, but I'll take a stab. SVCDs and VCD should always (or nearly always) be encoded into 4:3 resolution. You want to put it in the format that your player and your television can play. Televisions are set up to play 4:3 format. Now, if you have a widescreen 16:9 source, and you want to play it letterboxed on your television, you need to create the letterboxing in TMPEG. If you go to settings, and make sure on the first tab you have 4:3 encoding selected. Then, click on the advanced tab and you will find an option to change the source aspect ratio to 16:9. You'll also want to Choose "Full Screen (Maintain Aspect Ratio). This will create the letterboxing on the screen while at the same time encoding the file into a 4:3 format that your television and player can read.Originally Posted by FuegoLatino

thanks for your answer but the question is how to make a 16:9 native svcd, not a letterboxed 4:3
In europe there are 2 standard 4:3 and 16:9.
In fact making a svcd from a anamorphic 16:9 dvd, result in a 16:9 native svcd and if you watch this svcd on 4:3 tv you should see vertical lengthened images.
Now my problem if how to make a native 16:9 svcd from a 4:3 dvd.
with tzunami when I use 16:9 in the fist tab the result is a orizontal flickering image.
thank you for your patience and excuse for my english. -
There is no "16:9 native svcd". SVCD standard DAR is 4:3. Everything else becomes XSVCD. In Order to make a SVCD you have to letterbox.
