I've been waiting for Best Buy to put the Verbatim DL discs on sale, but it seems like they haven't had a sale on them since about a month ago. They used to put them on sale more frequently, at least twice a month, but I've been paitiently waiting and nothing. Anyone know another place that has them on sale this week? Thanks.

    Yeah, I wish.

Meritline has a 20-pack for $35.50 shipped. Supermediastore is probably about the same.

Pretty good deal ?? sound's too good to be true!!
    But that's canadian right ?
Here the cheapest i have seen them is around $20.00 for a 10 pack in a walk in store like office max, staples or best buy.
I've been waiting for them to go on sale also, both best buy and office max were having them on sale every other week for awhile then seemed to stop.

    EDIT:
That would be .32 cents per DL disc
I wish someone sold verbatim Double Layer dvdr's for that cheap
even at that regular price that would be .68 cents each....

  5. Yeah, that's Canadian prices...ehh
I just received the new Staples flyer and the Verbatim 100 pack spindle is $29.99 Canadian for anyones who's interested. Regular price is $62.66.

    Ciao
    Just my 2 cents.

    Link ?
Sounds more like single layer prices.
I find i hard to believe that verbatim DOUBLE LAYER dvdr went from $2.00 each to .68 cents each in that short of time Anywhere.
It would be nice if they did then i could buy a ton of them!!!!

They seem to have the Verb DLs on sale more often than OMx, BB etc., AND they seem to actually have some stock when they do . . . unlike the dishonest bullshit you typically see, where's there a big ad and the whole Office Max superstore location actually had just 6 units available, and you're screwed after they sell them out in the first five minutes. But then there aren't all that many Micro Center locations, so you have to be within a reasonable distance of one.

Lots of stores restock on Tues and Thurs, so go shopping those days, not Sunday or Monday, nor Friday or Saturday. You snooze, you lose.

Thanks for all the help people. I really appreciate it.

On a side note, what was the final consensus on the FujiFilm DL discs? They're on sale this week at Best Buy for $40 (25 discs).

Are they worth it, or should I just wait and always buy Verbatims?

Fine, but that doesn't really address the point I was making: when you have a really big superstore (e.g., OfficeMax), serving a sizable geographic area, and they bait you -- prominently -- in their ad, and that store only gets 6 pieces of the item for the duration of the ad, that is just fundamentally dishonest. (This happened to me, approx. 8 months ago. My driving time to their location -- about 25 minutes each way.) What was that old song by The Who, "Won't Get Fooled Again." ?
By contrast, I think Micro Center may have this current special until the end of the month . . . and when I get there, chances are pretty good they will have stock on it. Should get to find out in a couple days, since I have to be not too far from one of their stores then anyway.

That is a good deal - especially after rebate. I'm lazy and impatient when it comes to rebates - which is why I avoid them when possible. Never-the-less, a very good find lawnman.

I have both sitting up on my shelves ... mostly Verbatim ... but I wanted to try out the FujiFilm brand ... and so far ... not coasters. I have not used up the FujiFilm 25 Pack spindle.

I use AnyDVD - CloneDVD2 to do the rip to ISO file and then I use Cyberlink Power2Go to burn to a DL disk.

    I've also used AnyDVD - CloneDVD2 - DVDShrink >> Imgburn

Not sure if this is of interest, but Buy.com (http://www.buy.com/prod/Verbatim_DVD_R_4_7GB_16X_Branded_100pk_Spindle_95102/q/loc/101...662&adid=17662) has the 100-pack Verbatim 16X DVD-R media for $36.71 - $16 rebate - another $10 if you use Google Checkout = $10.71 total plus you can select free budget shipping

To activate Google Checkout, make sure you are logged out of Buy.com, otherwise it will not show up

Also, I think if you use your Buy.com Visa Card you'll also recieve an additional 30% off...not positive on how that works though, so read that closely.

The rebate is only good if you purchase by 11/27/06 and must be mailed in by 12/27/06.
