I'm an absolute newbie at this, and am hoping someone here can help.
I'm trying to take files off of my Series 2 Tivo to my Intel Mac, with the purpose of ultimately editing in an app like iMovie and burning to a DVD that will work in any DVD player. I'm running 10.4.8 on the Mac, and am using Parallels with Windows XP Home on the machine as well.
I can get the files off of the Tivo and into the Windows partition using Tivo to Go, and can strip the DRM using DirectShowDump. I then move the file to a shared folder, which my OSX partition can access, and attempt to covert the resultant MPEG-2 file to something that iMovie can edit via ffmpegX. However, this is where I run into trouble. I have used trial and error to try and figure out what settings to use, and have ended up with files where the audio and video is out of sync, or I end up with a picture that is stretched.
What I'm looking for is some help with the format annd settings I should use to convert the file for editing on the mac and ultimately buring to DVD.
Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks!
Adam

I am actually having a similar problem. The videos are watchable, but once I convert them from MPEG to .mov or .mp4, I get audio that wanders back and forth. I've tried different bit rates, but have so far not found anything that works.
Any suggestions would help as well.
Thanks
Matt
