All I am trying to do is transfer HD content from my DirecTivo (HR10-250) to my Mac. Is there a product out there that can do this without hacking the Tivo?[/b]

I'm not sure about mac but there are a few restrictions for transferring tivo without hacking.

First of all I believe only series 2 models enable the tivo-to-go feature. Second of all you need the tivo desktop software. I have the windows version but i"m pretty sure there is a mac version. Third you need either a usb wireless tivo compatible transmitter OR a lan cable to connect your tivo to your computer.

Now I don't know about directivo. They may be slitely different from an official straight tivo only branded box. I have a series 2 official tivo box and can do tivo-to-go transfers. I bought the 60-70 dollar wifi tivo adapter and I set it up to find my wireless network and have been able to transfer the .tivo files without hacking.

EDIT - also I'm not sure that high def tivos have enabled tivo-to-go - I do not know if thats what you mean by hd tivo or not - I belive the new series 3 does not have tivo-to-go enabled at the moment. That is what you need to transfer digital files without hacking.

Also there are many dedicated tivo forums out there, I suggest you do some browsing - maybe type in your model number of your tivo and you'll find related info. Good luck.

The only method for transferring HD video from any kind of DVR to a Mac is via a Firewire link using Apple's Firewire SDK21 VirtualDVHS application. But that only works when the source is not 5c copy protected which essentially means only major Network HD programming can be transferred. I don't know if your DirecTiVo has a Firewire output, but if it doesn't there is no way to export the HD video.

Recently got a TiVO series 4 HD dvr via my cable provider (RCN) and I have a MacBook Pro (purchased earlier this year). I'm trying to use Toast Titanium 10 to access some movies I've dvr'd already with the MacBook but am having difficulties accessing the dvr. I've followed the directions here:

    http://www.tivo.com/mytivo/howto/record-once-watch-anywhere/howto_transfer_shows_pc.html

...but I cannot get the dvr to show when I launch TiVo transfer and enter the Media Access Key. Any positive help would be gladly appreciated. If there's more details needed to help come up with answers, please ask and I'll supply as quickly as I can.

    Thanks well in advance!
