I've used the ATI All In Wonder USB 2.0 Capture card to capture my video from my VCR (which I had very high settings and saved the file as an mpeg2). However I also retransfered the tape using a separate professional sound card to capture the audio (uncompressed 16 bit - 48kHz.)
I didn't think this would be a problem and thought by using some sort of program I could join the files and make some cuts and shift some audio and solve the problem. I was wrong. The audio recorded by the sound card was started at a slightly different time and I tried to cut out the early sound at a spot so that the audio and video could easily be joined) When I try using programs like virtual dub, etc... It's giving me trouble to sync the audio with the video nicely. It never seems to adjust the audio!
Is it because I have uncompressed audio? Do I need to convert the uncompressed wav to ac3 audio?
I've tried extracting the video .m2v file from the total video mpeg and try to sync those together which hasn't helped much either. I've been trying to sync the files up for weeks with no luck and I come to this board with the hope someone can help me out!
