  1. Hi friends

I am new to this forum. Please forgive me if this question looks silly or if it has been discussed here.

How can I make a VCD on a non blank CD. I mean if I have suffiecient space on a cd to write a movie on it then how can I make it compatible with a DVD player. Every time when I try to make it with Nero it gives an error that CD is not blank. Do I need a blank CD for it every time?

Secondly can I watch PDF files on a DVD player. I mean if I want to read Ebooks on a tv can I do it?

    Thanks

    Anil

If your original blank was setup as a multisession disc then I think you could add to it, would it play on a DVD player? Highly unlikely. If the disc was finalized then there's nothing you can do except use a new blank. AFAIK there isn't any DVD players that can display PDF files. You could take a screenshot of each page, convert to JPEG then burn to a disc. Doubt your eyes would like it though

  3. Thank you Sir for the reply. I am using a CD with multisession but when I choose to make a VCD from Nero it ejects the CD with a message that this CD is not empty although I have sufficient space on the CD and it is not finalized too.

I don't believe that VCD can be multisession, so Nero won't write to a multi-session disc in VCD format. It would be able to write the content of a VCD as data to a multi-session disc, if it is still open, but it won't be a VCD. VCD has a specific disc format, with less error correction than normal data formats. This allows you to put more actual data on the disc in VCD format, however it precludes using the disc for anything else.

  5. As others have said it won't work but you could author DVD files(IFO,BUP,VOB) and make a miniDVD,just make sure the folder is named VIDEO_TS and burn as data. Not all players support miniDVD though.
As for PDF,AFAIK there's no player that supports it.
