Ok... I have few questions, I hope someone can help with I searched all over online and read the articles and looked through the tools on this site and I am pretty much lost trying to find what I am looking for...

Ok... first...I'd like a took that can convert DVDs to regular video files like a DVD to mpeg, avi, wmv etc...

second, i'd like a tool that can convert any type of video (like the ones listed above) to flash... are flash files with similar quality usually smaller?

third... if anyone has suggestions of tools that can help me with the above that are free or open source that would be best... if not... thats fine too. the videos are usually news clips or videos i take for work and i am very new to video editing etc as you can tell.

oh yea... one more thing, one video file i have... the sound is very low... is there a way to amplify the sound/make it louder?

    Thanks again.

A1) Convert AVI: AVI.NET, AutoGK, Fairuse Wizard. Convert to anything else: why?

A2) You mean Flash Video, and that depends on WHICH VERSION you're talking about, as they changed codecs every other year. Try SUPER

    A3) Ditto

A4) Usually, you'd demux the audio, send it through BeLight for a bit of gain boost, then mux it back. However, as you didn't provide any details regarding your clip, I have no idea whether this would apply to you or not, except in the most general sense.
