Hi There,
I'm capturing from VHS with a tv-card(BT8.. chip).
Picture quality is fine.
However, I'm getting this irritating Scratching/Ticking
sound whenever someone speaks ... ??
My sound is from Audio out on VHS to Line-in on SB Live card.
I am encoding in PCM.
Any Ideas ??
Regards,
Gavin

Do you happen to have a VIA MVP3 chipset?
My sound blaster live gave me terrible trouble on my old K6-3 system with the MVP3 chipset. Everytime I captured I got the sort of horrible noise's you described. The only way I got rid of it was when I upgraded to a Duron with the KT133 chipset, and I have heard of people having the same problem with the SB live and the MVP3 chipset.
If you don't have MVP3, you could try to lower the volume on the line-in to about 70%. But if you do have MVP3, then I think you're in trouble.
Tool Man.
