    Hey there.

My friend has made this cartoon series. All his episodes are in a AVI format. I have burnt the series to a DVD Data disc. I want to watch them on a Tv not a pc as my pc chair is uncomfortable and my monitor is small.

How do i play that on a DVD player. I heard i need a DVD player with the Divx function ?

Anyone give me a link to a website or a model to any ?

what do people think about these..

Can't help with those players i'm afraid. Try the Dual DVD 860 from Asda, it's about £35 and plays everything. https://www.videohelp.com/dvdplayers.php?DVDnameid=6895&Search=Search&#comments

First, stick the disc in a computer and run Gspot on these files.

Could be they aren't using a DivX/Xvid codec on the video. Then, they'd be worthless as-is (at least for settop playback), you'd have to convert first.

AVI can contain all different kinds of video compression, not just DivX. E.g.: uncompressed, DV, HuffYUV, Cinepak...
Depending on where you got these, you never know...

Those should be fine. So now you are back to needing a DivX capable standalone like the ones that you have listed above.
