    How does one convert an animated screensaver to avi for editing?

    Without knowing what's in the screensaver, and given that a screensaver can generally be anything from a simple looping video file player to a fully-programmed animated series of effects, the only real option would be to capture the screensaver while it's running to a video file.

    Others on the forum have suggested programs like Camstudio for that purpose. (I haven't tried any of them, so I can't comment on them.)
    If cameras add ten pounds, why would people want to eat them?
