I've been asked to convert our School Logo into a screensaver that can be playing on all of our machines in time for our open day, only i'm not quite sure how to do this and not managed to find anything suitable on Google yet.
Anybody know of any (free) software that will allow me to convert a video file into a screensaver file ?
The 'from' format really isnt an issue, i can have it as AVI or MOV or whatever with basically any codec, but i cant seem to find any convertor to .scr
I also have it exported as a GIF if thats going to be easier, but i doubt it.
Cheers if you have any ideas.

If you use windows then try this:
http://www.microsoft.com/DOWNLOADS/details.aspx?familyid=6405FF4F-9BC4-40DD-AA30-ED4FF...displaylang=en
Its a screen saver that can play videos from a folder you specify.

Video screensavers should also run from a USB stick. Way less wear and tear.
Video screensavers should have a random option.
They should also be able to play random video segments.
Download a copy of Mine:
http://www.telusplanet.net/public/stonedan/search.exe
put it on the USB stick and rename it to "catmydrive.exe"
Click on it to catalogue all the Mpg videos there
rename another copy of the program to "randomseg.exe" this will play random 3 second clips (changing the length of play is easy)
rename a copy to random.exe and that will play the complete video.
When you have lots of video like I do. You need random to keep you in touch with it all.

Who are you the forum po po.
I have over 2100 videos up on youtube. People who create viruses should be shot. TWICE -
It looks okey. https://www.virustotal.com/file/e1b559cf8f9f20f9736a6f561f68757bb63c6713f1785ea6bc2bb4...is/1340565488/
But I wouldn't download just an exe with no documentation. -
Better to use something straight from Microsoft http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=23504.

Edit: NM, just duplicating something already written. -
Thanks for the clean bill of health.
Not only can the program play random video segments. It can play random groups of video or a mix of large text, pictures, video, audio...
The next minor enhancement will make it easier to do the above.
My last BIG video project was 135 video clips from the drag races on 10Jun2012.
http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL9E1555B30EDA274F&feature=plcp the youtube playlist for that event
Future drag race DVD's will have random or sequential playback. First the race info will display in 48 point text, followed by each race video. Then the results: winner, elapsed time, top speed, reaction time etc. Then the next etc.
I'm pretty sure nobody else is offering these features. Otherwise they would be bragging more than I am.
The next demo DVD will be for a Bargain Hunter application. Users can search for specific info and the app will display related text followed by pictures or video for that item, followed by price, phone and contact info. Nobody but nobody can top that...
