    I know what is and how to use batch converting from AVI to MPEG but how to use batch capturing from my DV camera to computer, when I have to replace an load next video cassete into camera. So what is the point of meanig of "Batch Capturing".

    Never done it myself, but my understanding is that "batch capturing" enables the user to capture only certain parts from the source tape, thereby eliminating the need to edit unwanted footage later. The user tells the capture program which parts to capture and which not to. To do this you need both capture software that supports batch capturing and a playback device that can be controlled via the software (to play, fast forward to next clip, etc...). Typically there is a data port on the hardware device that connects the software to the hardware, such as with DV or through an RS-422 port on a pro machine. I'm sure there may be other port types.
