I used dvd decrypter and successfully ripped a DVD to my hard drive. Its a long convoluted story but basically I accidently deleted the ripped DVD from my hard drive and the actual DVD is no longer viable..(dont ask..). anyway I found a program to recover deleted files from hard drive and recovered the data. When I use cloneDVD or DVD Shrink to make my back up I get an "error opening files". The actual VOB's seem ok, they play fine in PowerDVD.
What is the easiest and best way to make a dvd with these VOB's?? I dont care about menus or anything ill be happy just to have a DVD play the VOB's.
Please help me..

Use TMPGenc DVDauthor and use the import DVD video option.
I want to know the best/easiest way to re-author the VOB's onto a DVD.. -
That's one of the best and easiest ways. You might try using IFOEdit and reconstructing the the DVD format. If that fails, maybe extracting the MPEGs from the VOBS with a program like VOB2MPEG, then re-authoring them. Just because the file plays in a software player doesn't necessarily mean it's not a corrupted file. Software video players are much more forgiving than a standalone player or a program that needs a file with 0% errors.Use TMPGenc DVDauthor and use the import DVD video option.

Hmmm, so there is no way to use the VOB's on their own??

The VOBs on their own are naked without corresponding IFO and BUP files that tell the DVD player exactly how to use information in the VOBs. Let me echo the sentiments of and recommend demuxing with VOBEdit (part of https://www.videohelp.com/guides.php?guideid=723#723 might assist) and then author with any authoring software that accepts elementary streams. Or, if you've only got one titleset, then http://members.dodo.net.au/~jimmalenko/test.htm may be of assistance.Originally Posted by BrowncoatIf in doubt, Google it.
