  1. I use the DAzzle Digital Video Creator 2, but when I try to capture using the s-video connection from my Sony DSS receiver (model sat-b3) I get that white line. It's driving me bananas. I only see the lines with the capture card. I don't see it when I watch regular tv. I also don't see it when I capture from the DVD or VHS, it's only with the Sony DSS.

I've tried just connecting with the rca cable and turining off all equipment but my pc and DSS. I also changed which outlet the DSS was plugged into and I still get that white line. I think I've exhaused every possible thing I can do. I'm at a point now where I want to call the provider and ask for a different receiver. I've had this one since 98'.

    comments or suggestions are appreciated!!

You may also like to change the capture codec you are using (try MJPEG or HUFFYUV)

In fact the artifacts look like they are being generated by the capture hardware. I remember reading a review on this site in which the user was experiencing similar artifacts with his ATI card (but they were black rather than white) If you have access to another capture card it may be worth giving it a try before binning your satellite receiver.

  3. I found some suggestion that this could be a "ground loop" issue. Not even sure what that is, but I tried those solutions and it didn't work. It seems those solutions are for folks with cable and I have satellite. The solutions they offered just blocked my DSS from rec'ing a signal but I still got that stupid white line.

I did send a email to my provider asking for a new receiver so cross ur fingers.

I will also purchase a new capture card if I must to determin if it's my dazzle card.

    thanks

  4. I found my solution!! My Sony receiver was causing the interference. Once I moved that to a different room, my white lines stopped!!

who would have thought it was my receiver!@#@@
